Special advertising for fiestas The biggest festival to
happen in Menorca is that of St Joan and it has to be seen
to be believed. Every June the islanders, and thousands of
tourists, armed with pomada and sacks of hazlenuts (thrown
at each other as a sign of love) take to the streets and party
as hard as they can for up to a week although officially the
party is only supposed to be 3 days. The streets are alive
with elegant black horses with riders kitted out in traditional
dress who race around the streets for the duration of the
festival. The ads below were published as messages of goodwill
for the fiestas.
